Introduction to Industrial Mechanics

This one-year concentrator course provides students with the foundational concepts required for career
readiness and pursuing further education in Welding and Materials Joining career pathway. Students learn basic metal-working trade skills: machine tool technology, metal welding, metal forging and casting. Students will gain basic experience in metalworking, skills in metal art and industrial occupations by working on a variety of activities and projects to include: personal safety, good housekeeping, bench and hand tools, metals, welding unit, sheet metal unit, forging and casting units, manual machine tool types and operations.

Advanced Welding and Metal Art

A one-year capstone course spent exploring advanced metal-working trade skills: machine tool technology, metal welding, metal forging and casting. Students will gain advanced experience in metalworking, skills in metal art and industrial occupations by working on a variety of activities and projects to include: personal safety, good housekeeping, bench and hand tools, metals, welding unit, sheet metal unit, forging and casting units, manual machine tool types and operations. Students will design, create and market products based on specifications of clients and complete high-level work based learning projects
