Foundations of Digital Design
This semester long foundational course provides students with a introduction to digital design, tools, processes and systems common to careers in graphic arts and digital production. Exploration topics include printing enterprise, art and copy preparation, graphic design, image generation and assembly, production photography, graphic reproduction operations, binding and/or finishing related to digital. imaging, printing, and digital production. This course serves as an introductory course to a variety of AME Pathways including, Graphic Arts, Stage Technology, Film and Video Production, Multimedia Production, and is encouraged for all AME students.
Stage Technology in Nueva School for the ArtsProduction Design 1This project and portfolio based concentrator course for 11th grade students in Nueva School for the Arts focuses on foundational skills necessary for careers in production and arts management, performing arts, multimedia and stage production, with an emphasis on marketing live events. Students will use software to design multimedia portfolio elements, develop professional portfolios, design posters and other industry specific materials for performing arts events, and learn to use that Design Thinking process to plan large scale stage productions and address community needs and social issues through art. Academic units are centered around the creation of student projects that they conceptualize, design, publicize, build, and/or publicly perform. The course will introduce students to adobe software programs and introduce: principles of design, color theory, digital image manipulation, page layout, typography and presentation for stage design, production marketing, personal branding, and gallery/exhibition design. Production Design IIThis project and portfolio based capstone course for Nueva School for the Arts 12th grade students focuses on foundational skills necessary for careers in Students will use software to design multimedia portfolio elements, develop professional portfolios, design posters and other industry specific materials for performing arts events, and learn to use that Design Thinking process to plan large scale stage productions and address community needs and social issues through art. Units are centered around the creation of student projects that they conceptualize, design, publicize, build, and/or publicly perform. Students enrolled in Production Design 2 will be working with students in Production Design 1 as mentors, team leaders, discussion facilitators, and presenters. The course will allow students to refine skills on adobe software programs and apply skills using: principles of design, color theory, digital image manipulation, page layout, typography and presentation for stage design, production marketing, personal branding, and gallery/exhibition design. Internship and portfolio development is integral aspect of course.

Film/Video Production at WIndsor High SchoolInnovative Filmmaking IThis elective concentrator course will examine specific uses of film and video technology in various entertainment and industry sectors. Students will receive training using industry standard film equipment and software. Using Adobe Premiere as the primary platform, students will learn basic functions of film editing and understand the role of audience and market research in planning and ideation. They will learn about the production process from storyboarding, scriptwriting, camera operations, post-production and marketing for live and media based productions. Students will do career exploration in different Film and Video related professions and work collaboratively in production teams to design and create video productions.

industry sectors. Students will receive advanced training using industry standard film equipment and software. Multimedia Production at Windsor High SchoolBroadcast JournalismThis elective concentrator course provides students skills and competencies in broadcast media including television, radio, web/pod casting, and emerging broadcasting technologies through the production of a weekly student bulletin, journalistic, and documentary style filmmaking . Students will become familiar with current and emerging technology and practices and the variety of career opportunities that present themselves in the live broadcasting pathways.
Broadcast Journalism IIThis elective capstone course for the Multimedia Production pathway examines the specific uses
of film and video technology in various creative industry applications. Students will demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in pre-production, production, and postproduction practices in an educational and work based environment for the purpose of Broadcast Journalism. Students will create film and/or video and sound products that demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of professional film and video and sound production.
